What Are The Hyundai Models – Hyundai makes great cars and crossover SUVs. But some models are better than others in areas like reliability. Here are the two most reliable Hyundai models based on a survey of owners by Consumer Reports.
Consumer Reports recently released a list of the most reliable cars for 2022. CR bases its results on survey responses from the owners of the cars in question. Every year, the consumer site sends out surveys to owners asking them about their vehicles. CR uses this information to determine a car’s reliability rating and to predict reliability ratings for vehicles for which the site does not collect enough data.

CR also evaluates car companies. Consumer Reports states, “Brands are ranked by average predicted reliability based on surveys of CR members.” Overall, Toyota and Lexus earned their reputation for reliability as they ranked first and second on the list. Hyundai is in the middle of the pack – 13th out of 24 brands for which CR has data.
Hyundai Responds To Dramatic Surge In Car Thefts And Prepares New Security Kit
Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis scored better than Hyundai. However, both Hyundai models offer good reliability scores. They are the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid and the 2022 Hyundai Sonata.
According to US News, the Santa Fe Hybrid is one of the best options in the hybrid SUV segment. The Santa Fe Hybrid has one powertrain option: a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that produces 226 hp. They are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is standard.
This midsize Hyundai SUV gets 36 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. It gets slightly worse fuel economy than other hybrid SUVs, but the Santa Fe Hybrid is solid in all other areas. And this is primarily due to its interior design. The five-seater has a comfortable, quiet cabin with heated front seats as standard.
Additionally, CR reports that the Santa Fe Hybrid has “excellent” cargo capacity. It offers 36.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats and up to 72.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
Which Hyundais Are Best For Teen Drivers?
Technically, the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid comes with advanced safety features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital gauge display, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
The Sonata is another great and reliable Hyundai model that is strong in almost every area. It starts with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 191 hp. This engine gives this mid-size sedan enough power for daily driving, but other segments have more power. However, the Zonana is fuel efficient, achieving 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
Like the Santa Fe Hybrid, the Sonata offers an attractive interior. Its cabin is well designed and the seats are spacious and comfortable. The trunk has 16 cubic feet of space, which is generous for a sedan. The Hyundai Sonata comes standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen and smart safety features like forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. Hyundai is undergoing major changes. The South Korean automaker is revamping its lineup as it continues development of the Ioniq EV sub-brand, which will debut the Ioniq hybrid and all-electric hatchback for 2017. Three entire product lines will be discontinued ahead of Hyundai’s EV expansion, but not all cars are at risk. As some cars get the Axe, popular models like the Elantra and Sonata will get some new features for the 2023 model year.
Read on to see which Hyundai cars are getting the updates, which are being added to the lineup, and which are being discontinued.
Which Hyundai Models Have All Wheel Drive?
Hyundai has continued to invest in cars for the past two decades, but in 2023 the brand’s focus has shifted slightly. The subcompact Accent sedan, the compact Veloster N hot hatch, the Ioniq Hybrid and the EV hatchback will no longer be offered. This means the subcompact Venue crossover now serves as the general starting point for the Hyundai brand, and the Elantra now offers the most affordable alternative SUV. While we’re disappointed to see the Veloster N discontinued, the Kona N does an admirable job as a replacement.
After the departure of the subcompact Accent, the Hyundai Elantra is the entry-level model in the brand’s car selection. After the 2021 redesign, the compact sedan gets minor changes to keep it fresh. Convenience Package models now feature 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.3-inch touchscreen and built-in navigation. The N Line trim loses the available manual transmission, but gains a 10.3-inch infotainment screen with built-in navigation. Elantra models equipped with the base 2.0-liter engine are also no longer available with the SEL Premium package.
The mid-size Hyundai Sonata sedan will arrive in 2023 with minor changes to the gas and hybrid versions. Sonata SEL trims in all powertrains get a new 10.3-inch infotainment screen with navigation and voice control capabilities. Highway Driving Assist is no longer available on the SEL Plus trim; It is currently only offered on the Sonata Limited. The hybrid models now have a panoramic sunroof instead of the sunroof equipped in the previous model year.
Although some of Hyundai’s cars will be discontinued in 2023, a new model will arrive in 2024. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the next part of the brand’s range of electric cars. The swoopy sedan includes the same electric motors and battery options as the Ioniq 5. That is, its basic powertrain has one motor driving the rear wheels. Power should be 225 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the base battery should be 58 kWh. We also expect a larger 77.4 kWh battery to be available. The twin-motor versions, which should come with a larger battery, are expected to produce a total of 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque.

The Ioniq 6 has a cabin that relies heavily on displays and capacitive touch controls. The interior is spacious and futuristic, with a 12.0-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. The second 12.0-inch screen serves as a fully digital instrument cluster. Hyundai says the Ioniq 6 uses environmentally friendly materials such as recycled plastic, recycled fishing net mats and linseed oil dyed leather. Adjustable ambient lighting adds customization to the cabin’s look and feel. We expect the Ioniq 6 to undercut the Tesla Model 3 by $48,000.
