Day Writing Challenge For Kids
For example, the images below show how to view this writing activity. In this example, the target word is leaves. You can see how it is cut in the image above to copy or move the word. The learning objectives are to create letters, to place the letters in the correct order and to draw a picture of the subject.
As a challenge, once they know the letters and the first letters of the alphabet, ask them to write a complete sentence using the word they pointed to. Here, the learning goals are to put the letters in the correct order, demonstrate typing concepts, and write a sentence using the word you point to.
Typing concepts include reading and writing left-to-left, top-to-bottom, leaving spaces between words, going down and back to the left, and using symbols. Did you know that how your children understand printed ideas is a strong predictor of their future success as readers? (Legal reading)
No matter what skill, copying a word or writing a sentence, your children will also have the opportunity to model (draw) a picture on the given space.
