Summer Fun Days

Bring your child to experience the wonder and magic of TreeSong! A connection and appreciation for nature will be inspired by going into the forest and its inhabitants—animals, plants, and so on. History, art, movement, music and nature learning experiences will be part of our fairy fun!

Whether your child is a seasoned fairy camper or new to the magic of TreeSong, this camp is sure to have a blast!

We will explore the magic within and around us as we approach the world of nature, delving into the four elements – earth, air, fire and water. We will use our creativity to create our own unique wands, make our own metaphorical books/nature journals, make magic creatures out of clay, practice potions using wild foods, learn about invisibility ( disguise) and more. more. Our time together will end in magical quests in the forest!

The Survival Skills Camp will cover the hard and soft skills of wilderness survival. We will practice both the hard skill of building shelter and the soft skill of knowledge, which will make us feel at home in nature. We will learn how to start a firefight by learning a set of bow exercises together, and each participant will learn how to use a knife safely. We will also experience making other traditional tools.

Another part of the course will be to teach animal tracking both as a survival and knowledge tool and as an intellectual pursuit. We will take time to slow down and pay attention to the tracks and signs left by the creatures of our area, and learn to recognize animals and tell their stories. The demonstration of survival skills will emerge within and during play, creativity and art, and the ‘art of inquiry’ will be used to understand. There will be plenty of time to explore and experience the forest and riverside at TreeSong – a unique and unforgettable experience for your child.

Similar to June’s Wilderness Camp, but aimed at older children, this Survival Skills Camp will cover the hard and soft skills of wilderness survival. We will practice both the hard skill of building shelter and the soft skill of knowledge, which will make us feel at home in nature. We will learn how to start a firefight by learning a set of bow exercises together, and each participant will learn how to use a knife safely. We will also experience making other traditional tools.

As we continue to overcome the pandemic, keeping children, families and workers healthy is paramount. We are fortunate that our program provides the perfect conditions for gathering in groups during COVID – outdoors, small groups, large communities, etc. TreeSong also requires our consultants to be fully immunized.
